Bass redirection with Vista Audigy drivers v. 2.12.0002

Ich muss das einfach mal hier wegspeichern. So ein Hack geht ja mal gar nicht!

Here’s how I managed to setup the bass redirection on the Audigy card with the latest Vista drivers.

Prerequesites:
Vista x86.
Creative Audigy card.
Driver v. 2.12.0002 installed.
Analog 5.1 sound speaker system correctly plugged in (verify that in the Vista sound control panel you can hear the sub-woofer).

Steps:
1. Start the driver executable SBAXVSD_PCDRV_LB_2_12_0002.exe
2. The driver extracts and the first screen appears – don’t press Next.
3. Go to your c:\windows\temp directory.
4. There you should have CRF000 sub-directory.  This is where the driver was extracted.
5. Copy CRF000 somewhere (e.g. c:\temp\CRF000).  Now you can exit the driver setup.
6. Go to C:\Temp\CRF000\Drivers\wdm\common\i386, launch ctpanel.exe.
7. Click on Speaker Settings and then on the Bass-M button.  It should take you to the BASS Management dialog.
8. In the Bass Redirection settings group click on the On/Off check box.  Now you should have the redirection enabled.  Adjust the slider to setup a bass redirection frequency.
9. Click Close, OK.  Done!

Now I have the bass working in Vista.  Thanks to Creative for this driver and to alexs3d2 for telling about ctpanel.exe utility.
